The Matira Beach Restaurant is located at the famous Matira Point, which has the most beautiful beach on the main island of Bora Bora. The restaurant is raised on stilts with spacious rooms to accommodate group dining sessions or just an intimate romantic dinner.
When Jason and I visited Matira Beach restaurant for lunch, we just finished jet skiing in the lagoon and were looking for a good meal afterward. On our visit, we met the owners, Chef Tuaiva and his wife Morgiane who were both very kind, and the service was excellent!
When stepping foot in the Matira Beach restaurant, you first notice the Asian decor, which is a pleasant welcome because it is so different from the other Bora Bora restaurants. There is a Tiki Bar with a wide selection of cocktails and light snacks to accompany your favorite drink. Their custom cocktails are specially prepared with local ingredients.
The Matira Beach Restaurant offers a lunch snack menu and a sushi menu in the evening. For either menu serving, the restaurant sources local specialties for their meals and imports exotic red meat from New Zealand.
For lunch, we were craving a Mahi Mahi burger with french fries, and Jason decided to wash his meal down with a cold Hinano beer. Their selection of fish was fresh and delicious, and we want to go back in the future and check out their sushi menu.
The restaurant is located right off the main road and a short walk from Hotel Matira. The restaurant location has access to the beach and deck for lounging, and there is even a shower for desalting. The Matira Beach Restaurant is open throughout the week: – For lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – For dinner, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., closed on Monday.
