Along the main road that circles the island of Bora Bora is where you will find the Lucky House Fare Manuia Restaurant & bar. Located just steps from Matira Point, the restaurant is a mix of indoor and outdoor areas for seating.
One of the specialties of the Lucky House is their delicious pizza made from a large brick oven right near the entrance. We even noticed a couple of locals riding up on scooters and grabbing a box of pizza to take home.
The restaurant also makes some great Chinese and French cuisine. During our experience, the waiter recommended the special of the day, and Jason couldn’t refuse. It was a ground-up pork meatball with fresh homemade pasta and tomato sauce ($26 USD). We also decided on a Hawaiian Pizza made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple, olives, and dusted with a pinch of oregano ($17 USD).
The restaurant is popular and located near Matira Beach, which gets a lot of foot traffic during the day. I assume the guests of the InterContinental Le Mona Resort and Hotel Matira only walk across the street and get food/drink here rather than spending much more to eat at their hotels.
When planning your trip to Bora Bora, having options on places to eat is one of the perks when staying on the main island. Aside from the main village of Vaitape, the only other area in Bora Bora with shops and multiple restaurant options is located near Matira Beach. There are also a couple of resort accommodations, all within walking distance.
In the back of the Fare Manuia restaurant is an excellent-sized pool and lounge chairs for relaxing in the sun. Jason and I enjoyed the back of the restaurant after our meal.
The bar area adjacent to the pool is beautiful and spacious, with a full outdoor bar and flat-screen TVs playing different soccer games worldwide. Of course, we tried one of their Mai Tai cocktails which cost about $14 USD. If you want to try this place for lunch or dinner, give the Fare Manuia restaurant a call and make a reservation, they will gladly provide a free taxi to pick you up.
