Most all property owners are extremely helpful and will pick you up from the marina when your flight arrives. They will also let you know about many of the available excursions on the island, just like the big resorts do.
Some vacation rentals even provide bicycles or scooters for you to ride around the island. Jessica and I stayed at one vacation rental for an entire week and loved it. For a little extra money the property owner offered us a rental car and we used it to grab groceries and circle the island and check out all the sights. It was a wonderful opportunity to see Bora Bora from a local perspective.
If the vacation rental doesn’t have immediate access to the lagoon, no problem. Luckily one of the best beaches in the world is open to the public and its located on Pointe Matira. There you will find a white sandy beach with incredible clear water and its an amazing spot to watch the sunset.
