Don’t wait to start your honeymoon or vacation until you get to Bora Bora, let Air Tahiti Nui airlines set the island vibes as soon as you arrive at the airport.
Let’s face it, traveling can be a hassle with overcrowded terminals and long lines. It’s hard to get into full vacay-mode when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Thankfully, Air Tahiti Nui is known for their friendly customer service and calming blue motif. What’s even better is now the airlines offers a la carte services originally reserved only for business class travelers.
A La Carte Services Available:
- Lounge Pass
- Priority Pass
- Seat Selection
- Delices and Champagne
- Time to Think (Hold Fare)
- Tahiti Wifi
Without breaking the bank you can feel like a million bucks with dedicated check-in counters, priority boarding, and a private business lounge before takeoff. Such add-ons aren’t as bad you might imagine starting at $60.
Jessica and I were excited to experience some of these amenities firsthand. While we didn’t have the Priority Pass, we did watch several happy newlyweds with it speed to the front check-in counters while we waited in the longer line with those who didn’t. What we did get was the Lounge Pass, which was handed to us like a golden ticket (but it was blue) by the ATN staff member who checked us into the flight. With smiles on our faces, we proceeded promptly upstairs.
The Air Tahiti Nui Lounge is on the 6th floor of the Tom Bradley international terminal at LAX. Once greeted by the attendant, you’re then free to roam and enjoy the endless snacks and drinks. It almost doesn’t feel like you’re at the airport as it’s very quiet. There is free Wifi, clean private bathrooms, and enough space to completely relax before the 8-hour flight to Papeete.
To make this travel experience extra special, Jessica and I flew Poerava Business Class. A very special treat with an enhanced level of comfort and service. Right when you get on board you’re greeted with a Tahitian welcome and a glass of champagne or tropical cocktail. Although not yet in Bora Bora, our stress drifted away and our vacation officially started.
Our flight was an overnight adventure, so the extra room and further reclining seats were appreciated while trying to rest. But before bed, we were treated to a light dinner, dessert, and a healthy drink menu.
Poerava Business Class Wine List:
- Champagne, Charles Heidsiek Rose Reserve
- Champagne, Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve
- Macon-Villages “Grand Elevage”
- Bonnezeaux, Chateau de Fesles
- Haut-Medoc, Chateau d’ Agassac
- Givry, Joseph Drouhin
- Cotes de Provence, Chateau Miraval
Air Tahiti Nui airlines does a great job of making you feel like you’re already in French Polynesia as soon as you step on board. The cabin colors, the crew uniforms, the Tahitian music, the smell of the Tiare flower, it’s a wonderful experience and one that we keep choosing to fly with everytime we go to Tahiti.
What we do appreciate about Air Tahiti Nui is that they continue to strive for better. We just missed the inaugural flight, but starting November 2018 they are introducing the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to its fleet of planes that offer daily non-stop flights to Tahiti from Los Angeles. The specs on these new planes look to offer even more comfort and style, we can’t wait to experience them next time!
