Bora Bora airport shuttle to Vaitape

Bora Bora airport shuttle to Vaitape.

For those that want to reach the main island of Bora Bora, there is a free shuttle service run by Air Tahiti from the airport to the main dock in Vaitape. The boats leave for Vaitape village about 20 minutes after your flight arrives, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the marina in Vaitape.

Bora Bora airport is tiny and located on a motu which is a small outer island. It is only accessible by boat. Most honeymoon or vacation travelers staying at the big resorts such as the InterContinental, Four Seasons, St. Regis, etc… already include a boat transfer directly to their resorts. So they will not need a Bora Bora airport shuttle to Vaitape.

When picking up your checked-in bags, you will see a sign that says “Boarding Shuttles For Vaitape (Main Island).” Follow the arrow, and it will take you outside to the airport shuttle which is the biggest boat in the airport marina.

Since the airport is small you can’t miss the boats, and the staff at the airport speaks several languages and are friendly, so don’t hesitate to ask them for directions.

  1. Our return flight to PPT departs a 6 pm, Jan. 15. I believe we should be there at least an hour earlier (5 pm), so is there a shuttle than runs from Vatiape to BOB at 4 pm? We will be staying @ the Four Seasons.
